The Day4.org Star Parties are monthly events open to the general public for families, teenagers, adults, churches, schools, and other groups of all ages. We have numerous telescopes and binoculars operated by knowledgeable, amateur, and professional astronomers viewing different objects in the night sky.
If you have a scope, feel free to bring it along and setup with us.
We have two annual open house/star parties that include special guest speakers and training opportunities. Our yearly StarBQ is a great time to meet fellow believers, play games, great food, and of course ending in one of our fun filled Star Parties.
The Day4 Star Parties have a tail-gate style atmosphere. Along with using easy to understand terminology, we have sky tours, activities, interactive demonstrations, multimedia presentations, and lessons that support a biblical worldview.
For the most enjoyment, we suggest bringing a chair and/or blanket to enjoy the night sky in comfort. Water and snacks are available however feel free to bring your own items that meet your families needs.
Please read our Star Party Etiquette and safety page to learn more.
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.- Psalms 19:1
Each month the sky is rich in objects from our own solar system, across the Milky Way Galaxy and into deep space. Check back closer to the star party for links regarding what you might see.
Scouts can come out to work toward their astronomy badges.
Other activities at the Star Party:
- Hands-on activities.
- Interactive 3D solar system.
- Glow sticks.
- and more.
Check back often to see photos of past events.
Call or e-mail Day4.org to schedule your star party**.
* Viewing astronomical objects is dependent on the quality of the night sky. Light pollution will degrade viewing deep sky objects such as galaxies, nebula, and star clusters. The moon, planets and stars and a few nebula are generally visibly throughout the year and are the most popular objects to view. Our host will help advise you what are the best objects for viewing in your area and date.
** Because astronomy is an activity that is dependent on clear skies, please consider having backup dates. There will be no charge if the star party needs to be cancelled because of an overcast sky.
